Junior Data Scientist – Werlabs

Werlabs is a medtech company with a clear mission: Live better, longer. We help our users identify and counteract risks to their long-term health – long before they become ill. Our primary focus is on reducing the risk of chronic diseases, particularly cardiometabolic diseases, through preventive healthcare rather than waiting to treat diseases after they have already occurred.

About the role

As a Junior Data Scientist, you will become part of our tech team in Stockholm. You will work closely with clinical and technical colleagues to transform complex health data into real value for our users. Examples of responsibilities include:

• Building and improving data pipelines for biomarker and image data (e.g., HL7 flows for DEXA results)
• Developing models and tools that translate technical medical data into patient-friendly information
• Analyzing clinical datasets to support product development and quality assurance
• Collaborating with doctors, product managers, and engineers to ensure solutions are both technically robust and clinically relevant

We are looking for someone who has

• A degree in data science, machine learning, statistics, engineering, or equivalent
• Strong skills in Python and SQL
• Ability to work systematically with large and complex datasets
• Good communication skills in English

Strongly meritorious

• Medical or clinical background (e.g., medical, nursing, or biomedical education). A large part of our work involves clinical data, and domain knowledge in medicine is a clear asset in this role.
• Experience working with health data, electronic health records, or standards such as HL7/FHIR
• Hands-on experience with frontier generative AI models and building agentic workflows
• Swedish language skills
• Experience with modern ML tooling and cloud services
