As a key player in Sweden's energy transition, the IT division at Svenska kraftnät is growing to enable a doubling of electricity production and a fossil-free future. By leveraging the latest technology, we are strengthening and increasing the capacity of our infrastructure, as well as accelerating the pace of development within digitalization and processes. To continue this journey forward, we are looking for more experienced DevOps specialists.

About the role

In the role of DevOps Specialist, you will contribute to a crucial part of the development of Sweden's power system through the active management and further development of our most critical applications within the balancing area – the systems that ensure the balance between electricity production and consumption.

In this role, you will work closely with solution architects, system owners, other DevOps engineers, and testers in an agile team. Here, you will contribute technical expertise, improvement initiatives, and strategic competence to drive progress in complex issues. You are also responsible for the management, operations, incident handling, development, automation, and improvement of the organization's CI/CD flows, infrastructure, and platform-near services.

Main responsibilities:

  • Drive and develop DevOps practices with a focus on automation, CI/CD, and continuous improvements.
  • Manage and further develop development platforms, tools, and container platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
  • Implement scalable, secure, and robust container and microservice solutions with integration against Kafka.
  • Automate infrastructure, deployment flows, and operational processes using modern DevOps tools and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, security, and observability through monitoring, logging, and follow-up.
  • Participate in technical requirement setting, architecture work, and platform development in collaboration with architects and other IT functions and development teams.
  • Handle troubleshooting, incidents, root cause analyses, and drive improvement initiatives.
  • Support development teams with tools and efficient working methods throughout the entire development lifecycle.
  • Support advanced testing, including load, security, and integration tests.
  • Act as a mentor and actively contribute to knowledge sharing and competence development within the team.

As a DevOps Specialist, you are offered a complex and learning-oriented environment where you have the opportunity to develop in several areas and exchange experiences with experienced and engaged colleagues. Your role is crucial for keeping Sweden's electricity supply stable and future-proof. We want to invest in you, and through your work, you help ensure that Sweden neither goes dark nor stands still.

About you

Requirements:

To thrive in this role, you are engaged, have a natural drive, and enjoy collaborating with others. You build trusting relationships, work solution-oriented, and take initiative to drive complex issues forward. You are unpretentious, happy to share your competence, and contribute to the team's development. With a structured approach, you plan and prioritize your work, adapt to changing needs, and maintain a continued focus on quality and delivery. You communicate clearly, take responsibility for your tasks, and work independently.

You must also adhere to the Swedish Government's Values Foundation (https://www.statskontoret.se/forvaltningskultur/den-statliga-vardegrunden/). We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

Furthermore, you have a relevant degree in systems science, computer science, or other education or equivalent competence acquired in other ways. You also have:

  • At least 3 years of work experience in DevOps/technical system management in complex and business-critical environments
  • Technical competence in Linux/Unix, CI/CD, automation, Java/Python, Kafka, SQL/XML
  • Work experience with container platforms such as Kubernetes and/or OpenShift
  • Work experience with incident handling and root cause analyses
  • Good habit of documenting, communicating, and collaborating with both technical and business-oriented roles
  • Good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing

We consider it meritorious if you have:

  • Work-related experience in mentoring, e.g., as a technical lead, Scrum Master, Team Lead, or Tech Lead, and/or with competence development within teams
  • Work-related experience in IT security (certificates, networks, RBAC)
  • Work-related experience in system integration
  • Work-related experience in observability, monitoring, log management, and troubleshooting in complex environments
  • Work-related experience in microservice architecture and cloud or hybrid platforms
  • Work-related experience in load, security, and integration testing
  • Work-related experience working according to ITIL, PM3, or similar frameworks
