About the workplace

Onsdagsgatan is a day activity center aimed at people with a great need for support. We work individually with a clear structure to create safety and a sense of wholeness for our participants. We often have outdoor activities such as walks, forest hikes, or other short excursions.

Job responsibilities

As a support assistant, you work to enable individuals to live as independent a life as possible. You will be the extended arm of our participants in their daily lives, which means you provide support during various activities, with hygiene, during meals, and ensure medication is taken as needed.

Structure and routines are key words for our operations to function, so we work with clarifying pedagogy. Challenging behavior is common, and we work with low-affective handling to act as a balancing force in difficult situations and conflicts.

You work to create care of good quality, and you are expected to work with all senses to contribute to a rich, active, and independent life for our participants. We work with great respect for the participant's integrity, and the tasks are adapted to the participants' interests, needs, and conditions. You are expected to be outdoors in all weather, both on short and long walks.

You draw up and follow the implementation plans for each participant. The work is planned, documented, and followed up carefully, so it is important that you feel secure in documentation.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a high school diploma from the Care and Nursing program, or alternatively studied the Child and Youth program with a focus on social and pedagogical work. We assume that you have good knowledge and experience of working within LSS (Services and Support for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) from before.

To proceed in the recruitment process, you must also have:

• Experience working with people with challenging and aggressive behavior.
• Basic computer skills and experience with documentation.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• A B driver's license for manual transmission and the ability to cycle.

It is an advantage to have experience of autism, clarifying pedagogy, and basic knowledge of cognitive disabilities.
