We are now looking for a highly experienced social worker, so-called senior case manager, who can act as a mentor to newcomers in the profession as well as a sounding board for experienced staff.

Job Responsibilities

As a highly experienced investigative social worker for Children and Family (0–18 years), focusing on environmental issues, you work with investigating the needs of children and their parents for interventions, both under the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU). Your main task is to support both new and experienced social workers in their daily work. Together with our Senior Social Worker, you are involved in supporting social workers with prioritization in daily work and maintaining methods and assessment tools so that they are used in daily case processing.

The work involves active, qualified investigation and follow-up work, characterized by good treatment, well-founded decisions, and high legal security, involving great variation and change. We value the views and opinions of children and parents, and we work to ensure that children are involved in their investigations and follow-ups.

Qualifications

You need to have a degree in social work and several years of current experience in exercising authority under the Social Services Act concerning children and young people. Having high integrity while being empathetic, being able to see the big picture, and having a sincere desire to do your utmost to contribute to a better life for children and young people together with your colleagues are basic requirements for the job. Using yourself as a tool in work means you need to have very good communication skills and be able to express yourself well both verbally and in writing.

You, as an applicant, have good cooperation skills and thrive in a work role that involves a lot of collaboration both within your own work group and with other operations and authorities. You have a good ability to create and maintain relationships with children, young people, and their families, and care about being attentive and listening to the person you meet to create good contact.

As a person, you are also responsible and have a good ability to structure, which allows you to efficiently plan, organize, and prioritize your work. At the same time, you need to have a solution-focused approach and be adaptable to changed circumstances. To thrive in the position, we see that you are secure and stable in yourself, and that you have the ability to maintain a realistic perspective and focus on the right things even in pressured situations. About the Workplace

The Business Area Individual and Family is divided into two departments with different assignments and focus areas: Investigation and Intervention.

Within the Investigation department, there are currently 4 units. At the North East unit, we have 4 sections working with investigation within Children and Family with a focus on environmental issues (0-18 years), and each section consists of 12 social workers, 1 senior case manager, 1 Senior Social Worker, and 1 Section Manager. Having a senior case manager is unique to our unit, and we are very proud that we have chosen to have a social worker who focuses on supporting new colleagues during induction and working with experienced colleagues on the most complex cases.
