DUTIES

To our short-term stay and supervision according to the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) at Ekelund, we are now looking for a new colleague as one of our colleagues is changing jobs within our operations!

At Ekelund, there is a floor for children and young people where we provide short-term stays and supervision for intellectual disabilities. On the second floor, we have short-term stays for young adults who are being prepared to move out of their parents' homes.

Work on both floors may occur, but with the largest extent on the floor for children and young people.

Ekelund is located very centrally, and we utilize the proximity to the swimming hall, youth center, library, ice rink, football fields, and playgrounds that we have close by.

As a support assistant, you shall provide support, service, and care as well as planned interventions and activities in consultation with the user and the guardian.

This entails:

  • Statutory and professional responsibility for establishing support interventions according to LSS.
  • Responsibility for drawing up an implementation plan together with the user.
  • Ensuring that the interventions stated in the implementation plan are planned, executed, evaluated, and developed.
  • Responsibility for social documentation related to the assignment.
  • Collaborating with the user's network, other partners, and other staff.

As a support pedagogue, you are also expected to develop methods within the operation and mentor colleagues.

The support interventions should be based on the user's individual needs and promote independence and participation. Support should be given with respect for the user's integrity and self-determination.

We operate from a low-affective approach and work according to clarifying pedagogy.

The work involves irregular working hours on weekdays/weekends as well as on-call duties. Solo work occurs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Nursing program with specialization in functional impairment, Child and Youth program with a focus on social work or pedagogical work, or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Other merits: Support pedagogue, trained youth pedagogue, youth leader, or other pedagogical education.

You should have good basic IT skills.

Experience of working with a low-affective approach and according to clarifying pedagogy.

A driver's license is required for the employment.

We place great emphasis on your previous experience of working with people with functional impairments within LSS. You should have a very good sense of service and enjoy meeting people. Furthermore, you have good cooperation skills but can also work independently, have a positive approach, and good interpersonal skills. You have good communicative skills both orally and in writing, and are easy to form good relationships. We value flexibility and commitment highly.

Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities is required.

Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Start date: 2026-08-31. Immediate start.

There is an opportunity to combine the work with being a part-time firefighter. Assessment is made based on the operation's needs.
