The Social Services Department's mission is to work with social services and provide support, so that everyone in the municipality feels safe and has the same opportunities in life. We want everyone to be able to be active and involved in society. With a focus on respecting the individual's right to decide over their own life, we are responsible for three important areas: care and nursing, support for people with disabilities, and help to individuals and families. The Workplace

Within the Disability Support Department, there are several group homes, day activities, children's and youth homes, as well as short-term and leisure activities, according to the LSS Act (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). For the part of day activities that is particularly resource-intensive, we are now looking for you who, in the role of Support Assistant, will create meaningful engagement for the users participating in day activity services. We meet adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism or acquired brain injury of working age who are not employed or studying.

We are now looking for you who want to work within Day Activity Unit 2. We have two operations; one in Anderslöv and one in Trelleborg - you are expected to work in both operations.

Job Responsibilities

As a Support Assistant in day activities, your task is to create meaningful engagement based on the individual's own wishes and needs, where you guide and activate the users. The assignment focuses on strengthening the individual's opportunity to become more independent.

You work with mapping resources and skills in the user with a large focus on increasing or maintaining their independence and participation in society. The work involves creating implementation plans together with users, performing activities, and following up that the interventions continue according to the implementation plan. We work based on clear pedagogy (Tydliggörande pedagogik) which is based on making the world as clear and predictable as possible for the individual.

Threats and violence can occur, which means that in your assignment, you are expected to be able to work with low affective engagement and adapt your approach based on the user's needs and problems. You work from a solution-focused approach and need to be able to handle unexpected events in a calm and safe manner.

As a Support Assistant, you are expected to be an engaged and driving person who cares about the individual's independence, self-determination, and creating a functional and positive everyday life for the individual. The work involves many physical activities such as walking and cycling.

Qualifications

For the role of Support Assistant, we are looking for you who have:

A high school diploma from the Care and Nursing program, preferably with a focus on disabilities, or the Child and Leisure program, preferably with a focus on social work or pedagogy. Alternatively, other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Work experience from disability support/LSS where you have worked with adults with autism. Your experience includes clear pedagogy, low affective behavior, and knowledge of different disabilities.

Good computer skills and experience with documentation from previous work.

Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.

Good physical ability, as the work may involve physically demanding situations.

Driver's license and access to a car.

Highly meritorious:

Competence in alternative communication methods, Sign Language as AAC (TAKK).

As a person, you are expected to have good self-knowledge, be confident in yourself, be receptive, responsible, and have good collaboration skills. You are flexible, open, and see opportunities instead of obstacles. You use both your analytical ability and to take well-considered initiatives and strive to improve the operations for our users. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Working Hours

Working hours are Monday-Friday, 100%.
