The company was founded in 1959 in Tokyo and is today an internationally recognized brand that has been operating in Sweden under its own management since 1986 under the name SMC Automation. During its time in Sweden, SMC has created a stable platform, not least by helping Swedish "high-tech industry" automate their manufacturing processes. SMC today has customers within all automation, from precise manufacturing of analysis instruments in the medical industry to heavy industry such as sawmills.

Responsibilities

As a Technical Sales representative at SMC, you contribute to the company's continued growth by developing existing customers and identifying new business opportunities. You also work actively with prospecting and independently contact potential customers within the industrial sector, analyzing their needs to present solutions from the company's large assortment. You collaborate closely with colleagues in other departments, such as product managers and application engineers, to develop customized solutions that create added value for each customer.

You are responsible for the entire sales process, from booking and conducting customer meetings to presenting technical solutions, negotiating contracts, and based on needs analysis, making the customer feel secure and willing to invest in the company's products and solutions. The work involves dealing with decision-makers at various levels and building long-term relationships that lead to recurring business. The role requires you to be both operational and strategic, where you plan your own sales while contributing to the team's common goals. The time you do not spend out with customers is based at the company's office in Lund, where you will become part of an engaged and knowledgeable sales team of six people.

  • Develop existing customer relationships and prospect new customers

  • Work together with colleagues to develop and present technical solutions adapted to the customer's needs

  • Drive the entire sales process, from initial contact to closing and follow-up

  • Deal with decision-makers at various levels and work both operationally and strategically with sales

Education, experience, and personal qualities

  • Technical background with experience in areas such as automation, pneumatics, or industry

  • Experience in technical sales within the industry is highly meritorious

  • Good computer and system proficiency

  • Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

  • Valid driver's license (Category B)

You do not give up when you encounter obstacles, but dare to challenge to find solutions even when others say it cannot be done.

Furthermore, you have the ability to plan and drive your processes independently and ensure that things happen. You are solution-oriented, create trust with customers, and build long-term relationships by offering excellent customer service. Your combination of social competence and technical interest enables you to guide the customer through complex decisions and create value for both the customer and the company.
