Located at the square in Svenljunga is the municipality's Adult Education – Lärcentrum. Here, distance learning in Swedish, Swedish as a Second Language, English, and Mathematics coexists with SFI (Swedish for Immigrants), Care and Nursing College, and IM VIA.

IM VIA is Svenljunga Municipality's version of IM General (Introductionsprogram) at the upper secondary level. Here, we collaborate closely with the labor market unit regarding, for example, internships. The reason the education is located with us at the adult education center is that we do not have our own upper secondary school in the municipality.

In the autumn of 2026, a Technical Foundation Year will also start as a decentralized education program towards Borås University.

We are located in modern facilities and are a relatively small staff group where everyone's voice is heard.

Job Description

You will teach primarily mathematics within the adult education program and the municipality's variant of IMA (Introductionsprogram) at the upper secondary level. Teaching in compulsory school science subjects (NO) may also be included in IMA. The position also includes supervising students at the Technical Foundation Year.

You will participate in the development of the operations at Lärcentrum, both within the subject of mathematics, the Technical Foundation Year, and in the development of our IMA variant.

Qualifications

You are a certified teacher with eligibility to teach mathematics, physics, and chemistry at the lower secondary and upper secondary levels.

It is also meritorious to have an interest and aptitude for meeting and teaching students who have had difficulties in their previous schooling.

Our operations are based on a relational approach, where relationships form the foundation for development and learning at the individual level.

We also see that you have a strong interest in teaching adults. They bring completely different experiences and challenges into the education than our young people do.
