With approximately 1,350 students, Lerum Upper Secondary School is an attractive and popular school with a strong value base focusing on safety, presence, and challenges. We offer nine national programs, adapted upper secondary education, and introductory programs, divided into five school units, each led by a principal. The school also has an administrative director, a unit manager for student health, and an operations manager for coordination. Teachers are organized in work teams around students in the different programs. The school is located in a fantastic environment, with a green park area right next to the Säveån river, just a few minutes' walk from Lerum's center and train station.

Do you want to help shape one of the region's most attractive upper secondary schools? We are looking for an engaged study and career counselor who wants to make a difference for our students.

As a study and career counselor, you play a central role in the school's work to strengthen students' decision-making competence and create equal conditions for future study and career choices.

You are part of the student health team and collaborate closely with principals, teachers, administrative staff, and external actors. The work is carried out individually, in groups, and at a school-wide level.

Your main tasks:

• Conduct individual counseling sessions and group guidance
• Provide objective, current, and impartial information about educational paths, eligibility, the labor market, and further studies
• Strengthen students' self-awareness and decision-making ability
• Plan and implement school-wide guidance initiatives
• Collaborate with teachers, mentors, student health services, and external actors such as universities and the working life
• You are also part of a collegial network with study and career counselors within the municipality.

The position is a temporary assignment at 80%. Immediate start is preferred.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree as a study and career counselor. Experience from working at an upper secondary school is considered an advantage. You should be well-versed in the steering documents and general advice regarding study and career counseling, as well as relate to current research in the field.

• Proactive and solution-focused: You are flexible, see opportunities, and can plan and prioritize your tasks to achieve desired results.
• Development-oriented: You want to contribute to developing the school's study and career counseling and see the whole picture of the school's mission.

Employment Terms

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: 2026-08-12, end date: 2027-08-12.
Working hours: Daytime.

Salary

In accordance with the Pay Transparency Directive, Lerum Municipality wishes to inform that the employer is covered by the Main Agreement HÖK, General Provisions AB collective agreement, and applies individual and differentiated salary setting. In accordance with the directive, you are hereby informed that the salary statistics for this position are:

• 10th percentile: 41,700 SEK
• Median: 42,100 SEK
• 90th percentile: 43,760 SEK
