Police Region West
Police Region West comprises Halland County and Västra Götaland County. The operations in the region are organized into five police districts: Fyrbodal, Halland, Skaraborg, Greater Gothenburg, and Älvsborg, which together are divided into 16 local police districts. Additionally, there are three regional units: the operational unit, the intelligence unit, and the investigation unit, a regional office, as well as national departments represented in the region to support police operations.
The Local Police District of Greater Gothenburg Northeast is part of the Greater Gothenburg Police District. Within this local district, there are intervention and crime prevention operations, investigation groups, as well as support and services.

Job Responsibilities
We are now looking for a Group Manager who wants to drive local policing work with a focus on the investigative mandate. The investigations conducted by the group are both self-initiated and carried out on behalf of other operations within the police district. The assignment is broad, varied, and diverse, always with the problem profile of the local police district and the police district in focus. To succeed in the assignment, collaboration is required with both internal and external partners to achieve effects in the work. The job requires your ability to be flexible and have an understanding of the whole, which means that the group's tasks and focus are directed depending on the prioritized problem areas of the local police district and the police district.
To thrive in the role, you need to be secure in your role as a leader and have a genuine interest in building and developing both operations and employees and teams. Through your leadership, you create conditions for participation and community where collaboration is a large and important part of daily work. As a Group Manager, you have great opportunities to steer and influence the work.
The Assignment as Manager of the Area Group
As the manager of the area group, you report to the manager of the local police district and are part of the local police district's management group, where you together are responsible for carrying out assignments and driving the agency's change and development work. You have special responsibility for the group's operations in the field of crime prevention and investigative work and its results. As a Group Manager, you represent the entire Swedish Police Authority both internally and externally and work to strengthen trust in police operations.
Being a manager and leader within the Swedish Police Authority means creating security and building trust by exercising honest, courageous, and attentive leadership with trust in others' competence and ability. As a manager, you drive development by inspiring and encouraging reflection and feedback in a way that stems from following the law and treating people equally. You create conditions and work for good relationships that contribute to us acting together based on what is best for the citizens and the assignment as a whole.
Qualifications
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- Swedish police education
- At least 6 months of continuous experience working as a manager
- Experience in the current area of operations, i.e., external service
- Experience participating in change and development work
We consider it meritorious if you in addition have:
- Experience leading employees in the investigative mandate
- Experience in crime prevention work
- Experience leading others towards set goals and results
- Participated in management forums
- Manager and leadership training for direct level
- Experience participating in/driving collaboration with societal actors outside your own organization
