About the workplace
The Fire and Rescue Service in Ale and Kungälv municipalities is organized within the Bohus Fire and Rescue Services Alliance, and our mission is to create safety and security for over 80,000 citizens.
Our task is to work for protection against accidents, and our work ranges from traditional fire and rescue services to risk prevention and various safety-enhancing measures. For this work, we have a wide range of competencies that operate within several of the municipalities' activities as well as out among citizens and private organizations.
We have approximately 150 employees distributed across four fire stations. Both full-time and part-time firefighters work within the operations.
Job Responsibilities
Are you our new colleague? We are looking for you who want to work with civil protection and contribute to creating safety and security.
Bohus Fire and Rescue Services Alliance works actively with loss prevention, with the task of preventing and reducing the consequences of fires and other accidents within our member municipalities.
As a Fire Engineer, you belong to the Prevention Unit where you are part of a team that helps each other reach the unit's goals based on specialist knowledge. Your tasks will be varied and cover the breadth of accident prevention work within municipal fire and rescue services. You will work with supervision according to the Act on Protection against Accidents and the Act on Flammable and Explosive Goods, as well as process referrals to other authorities and other actors. Other tasks included in the position are information and counseling to the public. The position may be adapted based on competence, experience, and the needs of the operations.
There will be opportunities for competence development within the unit's area, and you will also have the opportunity to drive various types of projects and participate in the development of routines and guidelines within the operational area.
Qualifications
For us, it is important that you are a team player and enjoy working with other people. You have the ability to treat people professionally and respectfully regardless of the situation. As a person, you are responsible and have the ability to plan your work in the short and long term. You are analytical and can weigh together information and different considerations in your assignment. You have good skills in expressing yourself in speech and writing. You are trained as a Fire Engineer, where experience within fire and rescue services or as a fire consultant is meritorious.
Additional training in fire and rescue services for Fire Engineers (RUB) is meritorious.

Other
An employment with us involves placement in a security class. A security check with register control will be conducted before employment. Employment entails an obligation to be war-placed.
An extract from the criminal record must be submitted before employment. The employer will apply drug testing.
Interviews will take place during weeks 36-37.
Due to holiday periods, we have limited opportunities to answer questions regarding the position until week 31.
