About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will become safer and more secure for everyone. We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation, remand custody, and client transport.
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is a government agency that, together with the police, prosecutors, and courts, is responsible for reducing crime and increasing people's sense of security. The majority of those sentenced to probation supervision are in the probation service. Probation is criminal supervision that takes place in society, where a sentence in probation involves both control and support for the convicted. The probation service is growing, we are receiving new and more extensive assignments, and we are now looking for new employees to fill various roles in our societal mission.
The probation service works according to the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's vision "Better Out". The Swedish Prison and Probation Service faces an expanded assignment, which means we now need to increase the number of employees.
