Job Responsibilities

As a Fire Inspector within the Fire Safety Control Unit, your main tasks involve conducting fire safety inspections of fireplaces, flues, and exhaust ducts in large commercial kitchens. The purpose is to identify defects and deficiencies in the installations to prevent fire-related damage.

The role also involves creating increased security and understanding regarding fire safety, handling of fireplaces, proper burning methods, etc., through communication with the people you meet in your work. Since the Fire Safety Control Unit is new, this role will also involve actively participating in building up and developing the unit and operations, together with the unit manager and other employees.

Work in fire safety control is very important to us. Fire safety inspections must be carried out according to current deadlines, and our work must be of high quality. We must maintain good communication with those we meet during inspections and ensure that fire safety is at a reasonable level. If we identify deficiencies in an installation that we deem need correction, we issue orders to the facility owner for reasonable measures and subsequently follow up to ensure these measures are taken.

Rescue Services are part of Sweden's total defense, and a position with us entails war-time placement with general service obligation in the event of heightened readiness or war.

Qualifications

• Chimney Sweep Technician Degree: You must hold a degree as a chimney sweep technician according to Section 1 of the Ordinance on Education in Protection against Accidents, or alternatively, under older regulations, have completed a technician examination for chimney sweeps, attended a course for master chimney sweeps, or hold a master's examination for chimney sweeps.
• Driver's License: A requirement for the position is that you hold at least a Category B driver's license.
