Description

The City Management Office is responsible for the leadership, control, and coordination of Gothenburg's operations. This assignment includes the city's work on security and civil preparedness, including the protection of the administration's protected objects and socially vital functions.

Against the backdrop of a changed security situation and increased demands for robustness, continuity, and control, we are now undertaking a long-term strengthening of our internal capabilities in guarding and protection. As part of this work, we are looking for four security guards for direct employment at the City Management Office.

Job Responsibilities

As a security guard with us, you have a socially important assignment with responsibility for guarding and protecting the City Management Office's protected objects, in accordance with the Protection Act (2010:305) and current decisions regarding protected objects. As a security guard, your task is to protect the operations against sabotage, espionage, terrorism, etc. At the same time, you serve in the reception, which entails a responsibility to offer a welcoming attitude and high service level, and to be a good ambassador for the City of Gothenburg. The work places high demands on your ability to balance these responsibilities.

The assignment includes among other things:

  • Access control, authorization checks, and reception duty.
  • Security and access control in connection with the City Council meetings.
  • Stationary guarding, patrolling, as well as alarm and incident management within the administration's facilities.
  • Reporting of security-related incidents and handling of technical security systems.
  • Actively contributing to the office's collective security, protection, and preparedness work.

The duty is performed according to a schedule, mainly during daytime.

Qualifications

  • You should have a security guard training, not older than five years.
  • You should have at least three years of continuous and current experience working as a security guard/at a protected object, or other experience that the employer deems equivalent.
  • You should have approved training for firearms in service as well as the prerequisites to be granted a loan permit/firearm license via the Police Authority.

You have a good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish. For this position, you need to have a B driver's license.

You have a well-developed social and communicative ability, are service-oriented, and can act professionally and trustworthily in meetings with politicians, civil servants, and the public. At the same time, you have the ability to make quick, resolute decisions and set clear boundaries when the situation requires it.

Conditions

Employment is subject to necessary decisions regarding expanded operations.

Since the position is security-classified, a security clearance according to the Security Protection Act may become relevant, which among other things means that you must consent to a register check conducted by the Security Service before being offered a potential employment. An approved security clearance is then a prerequisite for obtaining the position.
