The Finance Department plays a central role in the municipality's operations, working to ensure sound financial management, quality-assured accounting, and well-founded decision-making support. Through our work, we contribute to the optimal use of the municipality's resources and enable operations to be conducted efficiently and sustainably.

Here, you will become part of an engaged team of competent and driven colleagues who jointly are responsible for the municipality's financial control, accounting, budgeting, local planning, follow-up, and financial development. We work closely with the various operations and serve as a key support to managers in financial matters.

You will report directly to the Finance Manager and play a vital role in ensuring quality and development within the municipality's accounting work.

Your Role

As the Accounting Manager, you will hold a key position in the municipality's finance function with significant responsibility and excellent opportunities to influence the department's working methods and development.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and developing the municipality's ongoing accounting work.
  • Being responsible for monthly follow-ups, interim and annual accounts, as well as group reporting.
  • Ensuring quality and reliability in financial data and analytical support.
  • Having overarching system responsibility for the municipality's financial systems.
  • Efficientizing processes, routines, and systems within the accounting area.
  • Driving development and improvement projects.
  • Providing qualified support to operations regarding accounting matters.
  • Planning and conducting internal training.
  • Monitoring developments within the accounting field and implementing new requirements and opportunities in operations.

Who Are You?

We are looking for you who have a relevant university degree in finance or other education and experience that the employer considers equivalent.

You have experience of qualified accounting work, preferably from a municipality, region, or other public sector operations. Experience with annual accounts, group reporting, or financial systems is considered an advantage.
