Description

Kungälv Municipality is looking for a Board Secretary. As a Board Secretary, you will be part of a group that collectively handles all municipal boards, committees, preparatory bodies, and council meetings. This group is part of the Administration and Investigation Unit, which is responsible for municipality-wide support processes such as archives, registry, and board administration. Here, you will have an important role where your work contributes to order and transparency. You will be part of a team where engagement and collaboration are a natural part of everyday life, and in our shared mission, we work with courage, respect, and co-creation as our foundation.

Responsibilities

Board Secretaries participate in political meetings and presidium preparations. The duties include all administrative tasks related to political meetings, such as summonses, booking of premises, minute-taking, honorarium processing, and other board administration. The role involves substituting for one another as needed, and this position also includes specific responsibility as the first substitute for the permanent secretary of the Municipal Council. Additional duties include working with policy documents, delegation orders, motions, and remittals, as well as potentially certain investigations or investigative support. We also provide training, support, and service to elected officials and civil servants regarding board administration and case handling. The position also involves work on streamlining and quality assurance of the board administration's internal processes and methods through continuous improvement work.

The position is part of the municipality's election organization.

The work involves frequent contact with elected officials, employees, and to some extent with the media and citizens.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have post-secondary education in public administration, political science, or other education or work experience that the employer considers equivalent. You should have good knowledge of municipal law, familiarity with a public authority's case handling, and knowledge of the laws that must be followed.

You have a good understanding of digital information management and a high level of digital maturity. You have experience working in digital business systems and are curious and driven to see their potential and use them to streamline and improve working methods. Good Swedish skills, both spoken and written, are prerequisites for success in the role, as is good communication skills.

Complementary education in information science, IT, or similar is meritorious, as is experience and/or education in process development, process leadership, digitalization, and AI.

As a person, you are service-oriented, structured, meticulous, flexible, and solution-focused. You can adapt your work based on priorities, situations, and conditions, and communicate this effectively. You collaborate easily with other board secretaries as well as other roles and competencies. You are responsible, self-initiative, and carry out tasks within given timeframes and resources. You handle parallel tasks, such as political instances and investigations, with ease.
