Description
At the Urban Environment Administration, approximately 1,000 employees work with overall responsibility for Gothenburg's public spaces and collective accessibility. The administration is responsible for the places that Gothenburg residents use and visit every day. As one of the city's four urban development administrations, we work together on the city's sustainability.

Division of Economics is tasked with supporting the administration in carrying out assignments according to the board's regulations and achieving the goals set by the board and the city council. These goals include analyzing, reporting, and preparing assessment materials from an overall economic perspective for the administration and the city.
Responsibilities
Do you want to be part of Gothenburg's urban development? We are now looking for a controller who wants to influence and develop the Urban Environment Administration's economic management!
The Controller Unit's mission is to create conditions and contribute to the operations having good economic planning, management, and follow-up. The unit is responsible for supporting leadership and operations in maintaining and developing the administration's budget process and economic management. The unit also supports operations with budget allocation based on core tasks, political goals, assignments, projects, and activities. In addition, the unit supports leadership and operations in budgeting, forecasting, and follow-up work, as well as with economic analyses, key figures, and investigations.
As a controller, you work both operationally and strategically with budgeting, follow-up, forecasting, and analysis. Your main task is to support the operations' managers, project leaders, and case handlers. Your analyses and forecasts will, among other things, serve as a basis for strategic decisions.
Together with leadership and colleagues, you drive development and change work within the economic area.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has
- A bachelor's degree in economics, public administration, or equivalent education and experience.
- 7 years of experience in independent work with economics and as support to operations.
- Experience in accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Experience in project reporting and follow-up.
- Unhindered proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Meritorious
- Experience in investment reporting, project reporting, and economic management related to urban development.
- Experience working in the public sector.
- Experience with the economic system Agresso.
- Experience with the follow-up system Hypergene.
You are a responsible and driven person who takes initiative, works independently, and drives your work forward with a focus on results and quality. You have strong analytical skills and can see the big picture, understand strategic contexts, and dive into details when the situation requires it.
Furthermore, you are structured in your working method and plan, prioritize, and follow up on your work in an effective manner. You have good judgment and ensure that tasks are carried out carefully and with high quality.
You enjoy collaborating with others and are team-oriented, receptive, and non-hierarchical in your interactions. You build trusting relationships, contribute to a positive work climate, and actively work to achieve common goals.
You also have pedagogical skills and can adapt your communication to the recipient and situation. Through a consultative approach, you create understanding, engagement, and participation among those you meet.
Finally, you are curious about developing and improving working methods, while also having the ability to adapt to changed conditions and new needs. You see opportunities in change and contribute ideas that create value for the operations.
