NTI Gymnasiet Södertörn is a personal school with approximately 240 students distributed across the Engineering Program, Electrical and Energy Program, Vocational Introduction, and the Upper Secondary Engineering Program – Fourth Technical Year (TE4).

We are now looking for an engaged software development teacher who wants to help develop our one-year Upper Secondary Engineering education with a specialization in Information Technology.

About the Position

As a teacher for the Upper Secondary Engineering Program (TE4), you are responsible for teaching in modern system and web development. You will teach students who already have a diploma from the Engineering Program and who wish to take the step into working life as Upper Secondary Engineers.

You will primarily teach:

  • Frontend Development
  • Backend Development
  • Database Technology
  • Project Management

In your teaching, you work with realistic projects where students develop complete web applications – from database and server logic to user interfaces. We would appreciate it if you have experience with modern development environments and frameworks, as well as an interest in current technology and working methods.

The position also includes:

  • mentorship for a student group
  • responsibility for students' workplace-based learning (APL)
  • collaboration with companies and industry partners
  • development of the education's content together with colleagues and the business community
  • supervision of students' Upper Secondary Engineering projects

We work closely with working life and aim to give students the knowledge and working methods used in today's IT industry.

We are looking for you who

  • are a certified teacher or have a relevant university education and work experience in software development
  • have good knowledge of frontend, backend, and app development
  • have experience with databases
  • have a good understanding of modern development processes and version control
  • are a confident and clear leader in the classroom
  • build good relationships with students, colleagues, and companies
  • are solution-focused, engaged, and enjoy collaborating
  • want to help develop a modern IT education

It is an advantage if you have experience with

  • JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks
  • Node.js, Java, Python, or PHP
  • SQL and database management
  • REST API and integrations
  • Git and GitHub
  • Docker or cloud services
  • agile working methods such as Scrum or Kanban
  • work in system or software development within the business community
