Vista School is looking for a Primary School Teacher for Leisure-Time Centre – Coordination Coordinator/Outdoor Pedagogue (Fixed-term)

We are now looking for an engaged and structured Primary School Teacher for Leisure-Time Centre at Vista School with responsibility for grades K-9. The position is a fixed-term assignment for an employee who is on study leave, starting in mid-August and ending at the end of May.

In this role, you combine the pedagogical assignment in the leisure-time centre with an overarching responsibility as a Coordination Coordinator and the development of the school's recess activities as an Outdoor Pedagogue.

About the assignment

As a primary school teacher in the leisure-time centre, you have overall pedagogical responsibility for planning, implementation, and follow-up of the activities. You base your work on the curriculum, research, and proven experience, and actively work to develop the quality of teaching.

You create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues, and have high expectations for students' development. You are a clear pedagogical leader who contributes to a safe, structured, and stimulating learning environment.

Assignment as Coordination Coordinator

The role includes an overarching responsibility for coordinating leisure-time activities, including:

• Planning and coordinating staffing based on daily absences, calling in substitutes, and working closely with the school office
• Redistributing staff as needed in consultation with school management
• Having regular check-ins with deputy principals
• Responsible for scheduling (term schedule and holiday planning)
• Planning and organizing holiday activities, as well as mergers and duty leisure times
• Handling administration in Vklass (information, surveys, distributions, holiday registrations, etc.)
• Compiling materials, following up on responses, and ensuring good communication with guardians
• Collaborating with internal and external contacts regarding premises, catering, and cooperation with other schools
• Participate in and, if necessary, lead competence development and coordination meetings
• Update and develop the leisure-time centre's plans, annual calendars, and steering documents

Assignment as Outdoor Pedagogue

You are responsible for developing and leading the school's recess activities by:

• Planning and implementing varied and inclusive recess activities
• Creating structured weekly schedules for recess activities
• Organizing themed recesses and events (e.g., holidays)
• Involving students in the activities, for example through student councils and student groups
• Developing the recess environment through clear structures, materials, and activity areas based on the school's goals in systematic quality work
• Inventorizing, ordering, and maintaining materials
• Creating routines, maps, and support materials for recess activities and recess supervision

Your profile

We are looking for you who:

• Have a degree as a primary school teacher for leisure-time centres or a leisure-time pedagogue with a license
• Have experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching based on steering documents
• Are structured, have good organizational skills, and thrive in a coordinating role
• Are flexible and solution-oriented in a changing everyday life
• Have very good cooperation skills and are easy to build trusting relationships with
• Are proactive, initiative-taking, and contribute to the development of operations
• Are confident in your pedagogical leadership and create an environment characterized by security, respect, and clarity
