About the School

Practical Gymnasiet in Bromma is a school located near Alvik Centre, featuring excellent workshops that give students great opportunities to develop vocational skills within the programs we offer. We are certified as a Plumbing College and are members of the Welding Commission.

Our students complete their workplace-based learning (APL) in periods of 4–6 weeks in grades 2 and 3. We collaborate with companies in the local area or near the students' addresses.

We have just over 200 students and are currently 30 staff members working to ensure students receive the best possible education – this autumn, we need to grow!

We are now looking for a teacher for a position shared between the Plumbing specialization and the Industrial Programme, Welding specialization.

At Practical, we hold ourselves to high standards to create the best conditions for an educational and enjoyable experience. Our teaching is characterized by flexibility, proximity, and practical learning. Our program offerings include: The Electrical and Energy Programme, The Industrial Technology Programme, The Restaurant and Food Programme, The Plumbing and Property Programme, and the Introductory Programme (IMV and IMY).

Your Role

This is a fixed-term position for 1 year with a 100% workload, starting as agreed. You will teach and supervise our students in the Plumbing specialization and the Industrial Programme, Welding specialization. Together with other colleagues, you will be part of a team with other vocational teachers within the programme.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a certified vocational teacher in Plumbing and Welding subjects.

Basic Requirements

• Plumbing certificate
• Experience in butt-welding of pipes using TIG, MMA, and MIG/MAG welding methods.
• Knowledge of equipment and ancillary equipment within the vocational fields.

Meritorious Qualifications

• Certified – Safe Water
• Knowledge of steel and stainless steel (welding)

We place great emphasis on personal qualities. You who lack teacher certification have the opportunity to apply for the position. You and the school principal will jointly draw up a plan for how you can become certified in the shortest possible time. The job duties include contact with business, as a large part of the students' study time consists of workplace-based learning (APL), so good communication with employers is meritorious.
