Risöskolan is Sundbyberg Municipality's adapted primary school for students with intellectual disabilities. The school is located in Rissne, Sundbyberg. Just over 60 students from preschool class to grade 9 attend the school and study according to the curriculum for adapted primary school, subjects, or subject areas. Our goal is to give the students the best possible start in life, both academically and socially. Key pillars in the school's work are clear pedagogy, communication, and positive behavioral support.

A language-developing approach gives students the opportunity to express themselves, which contributes to increased participation and independence, motivation, and security. All students should feel safe at Risöskolan, as security is a prerequisite for learning.

As a student assistant at Risöskolan, the work aims to help students develop as much as possible, and based on their own prerequisites, in accordance with the goals of the education. You will work both during school hours and at the after-school center/short-term supervision. Together with teachers and other staff at the school, you work to create a developmental, meaningful, and positive environment for the students. Care and supervision of students are also important parts of the assignment. Your tasks include participating in the implementation of teaching under the teacher's pedagogical responsibility, being responsible for after-school activities together with after-school staff, and being responsible for student supervision and activities during breaks, at the after-school center, and during other non-lesson time together with the work team. This may involve helping the student find calm in their studies or assisting in finding individual solutions so that the student can acquire knowledge. It may also involve training in daily tasks; receiving and dropping off at school transport, hygiene, transitions, break activities, meals, certain medication, and handling self-care assistance according to routines.

We are looking for you who have knowledge and experience of working in an adapted school with students with intellectual disabilities, autism, and challenging behaviors. You have knowledge of alternative communication, clear pedagogy, and low-arousal approach. You are educated as a childcare worker, student assistant, or have equivalent education that the employer finds relevant.

Meritorious is experience of working with students at an early developmental level, with a focus on knowledge development and increased independence. You need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing.

As a person, you are calm, resilient, proactive, flexible, positive, and have good collaboration skills. You have experience working in different group constellations and of taking responsibility individually as well as in a group. You enjoy being outdoors/moving around both on land and in water, and you enjoy working with creative activities. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
