Job Description

We are seeking postdoctoral researchers who can contribute to several projects related to thermohydraulics and safety in Small Modular Reactors (SMR). The work will involve analysis to support the design and development of large-scale experimental facilities to be built and operated at KTH and in Oskarshamn. Various facilities will be designed to handle key thermohydraulic phenomena relevant to both water-cooled and lead-cooled SMRs. The work will be part of national projects supported by the Swedish Energy Agency and will have strong links to collaborative projects in Europe.

Requirements

• A completed PhD degree or a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a PhD. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than at the time the employment decision is made.
• PhD in nuclear engineering, experimental and analytical thermohydraulics, or fluid mechanics.

Merits

• At the deadline for applications, no more than three years have passed since the PhD or an equivalent foreign degree was awarded.
• Knowledge and experience in experimental and analytical investigation of thermohydraulic phenomena significant to the safety of water- and lead-cooled nuclear reactors.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, ability to work in teams and independently.
• Motivation and commitment to research work is a very strong merit.
• Teaching experience is meritorious.
• Awareness of diversity and equality issues, with a particular focus on gender equality.

About the Position

The position is permanent, but for a maximum duration of two years.

A postdoctoral position is a time-limited qualifying appointment with a main focus on research, intended as a first career step after obtaining a doctorate.
