Job Description

We are looking for a postdoc to work on the development of experimental methods for two-phase flows. We aim to develop a probe for measuring void fraction and velocity under prototypical reactor conditions. The work involves developing methods to manufacture miniature sensors and using these sensors in the HWAT facility. The HWAT facility was developed to study thermal-hydraulic phenomena relevant to Small Modular Reactors (SMR). The work is part of a collaborative project in Europe and a national project supported by the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM).

Requirements

• A completed PhD degree or a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a PhD. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
• PhD in experimental nuclear engineering, micromechanics, sol-gel chemistry, or experimental thermal hydraulics.

Qualifications that are meritorious

• At the application deadline, no more than three years have passed since the PhD degree or a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a PhD was awarded.
• Knowledge and experience in experimental investigation of two-phase flows, sol-gel coating, micromechanical manufacturing, high-frequency signal processing.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, ability to work in teams and independently.
• Motivation and commitment to research work is a very strong merit.
• Experience in teaching is meritorious.
• Awareness of diversity and equality issues, with a particular focus on gender equality.

About the Position

The employment is permanent, but for a maximum of two years.

A postdoc position is a time-limited merit-based appointment with a main focus on research, intended as a first career step after doctoral studies.
