About the role

We are currently seeking a certified teacher for instruction in Swedish.

We are looking for a relational educator with knowledge of ADHD/Autism (NPF) who wants to work with young people and is driven by helping them grow and develop. You will be part of a work team. There is great openness among teachers, and we share responsibility for ensuring all students succeed. The position includes mentorship duties.

Our schools focus on learning and development within common priority areas. These areas fall under three main headings: pedagogy, health, and civic engagement. We develop practices that, according to science and proven experience, have a positive impact on the learning environment, on the work for students' and learners' health, and on enabling our students and learners to enter the world with strong civic engagement. Lessons follow a structure with clear goals and purposes and vary in teaching methods. We also have a common assessment model.

Our schools operate with a strong value base focused on societal improvement and equal worth. Therefore, it is important to us that you share our values.

The duties include tasks related to the teaching role, such as teaching, planning, and assessment. In addition to subject-specific tasks, you will also serve as a mentor for a class.

Qualifications

We are primarily looking for you who are an experienced and certified upper secondary school teacher and are well-versed in the curriculum and regulatory documents for upper secondary education.

Beyond your subject competence, we value your engagement, your pedagogical skills, and your ability to inspire and engage students. We value your ability to meet students based on their knowledge and needs. Experience with ADHD/Autism (NPF) is an advantage. It is of great importance that you are relational and see every student.

You are curious and work actively to ensure that every student develops as far as possible based on their prerequisites.

It is important to us that you are motivated by challenging yourself, your colleagues, and students to contribute to the development of yourself, the school, and the students.

The City Mission School Foundation is a non-profit organization that runs upper secondary education at Grillska Gymnasium and Grillska's Adapted Upper Secondary School, as well as adult education at the City Mission Vocational College. With approximately 3,000 students and learners, we are one of Sweden's largest non-profit educational providers.

Being non-profit means primarily that we are not driven by any interests other than our vision – a school for a more humane society. The schools are independent schools run in foundation form, meaning there is no owner taking profits. Any surplus goes towards the development of the operations.

The foundation's founder, the Stockholm City Mission, has been running education since 1857, and we share the same fundamental, humanistic view of humanity and values.

Through education, we can prevent exclusion and strengthen the individual's belief in themselves and their own abilities, working towards our vision of a school for a more humane society.
