About the Role

The Swedish Armed Forces is seeking a highly experienced investigator who can lead qualified investigations at the corporate level within a state agency. This is a strategic assignment with direct impact on the agency's governance and development. You will be located at the Defence Staff's Department for Economic and Operational Management and will report directly to the Swedish Armed Forces' Financial Director, working closely with senior management. The assignment is linked to the project "Development of Central Leadership in the Swedish Armed Forces," where you will contribute to strengthening the agency's leadership capabilities.

Main Responsibilities

In this role, you are responsible for independently leading and conducting qualified investigations at the corporate level that span multiple operational areas. You analyze complex relationships within governance, economics, and operations, and produce well-founded decision support materials for the agency's senior management. The work involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. You operate in a multifaceted organizational context and have the ability to weigh together different perspectives and priorities. You contribute to solutions that are well-rooted and feasible in operations.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• University degree in a relevant field (e.g., economics, political science)
• At least 5 years of current and relevant experience leading qualified investigations at the agency management level
• Current experience working at the central level in a state agency or the Government Offices (Regeringskansliet)
• Current experience leading investigations across multiple organizational units
• Current experience developing governance, follow-up, or control processes
• Documented habit of producing and presenting decision support materials to management
• Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish

BENEFICIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Current and relevant experience advising agency management
• Current knowledge of state governance and economic-administrative regulations
• Experience from the Swedish Armed Forces or the Total Defence

Information about the recruiting unit: The Chief of Defence and the Director General are located at the Headquarters. The Headquarters has approximately 1,000 employees – both career officers and civilian experts. As of 2023-01-01, the Headquarters consists of the Defence Staff, the Operations Command, the Military Intelligence and Security Service, as well as the Headquarters' Staff Department and independent supervision units. An employment with us implies placement in a security clearance class. Swedish citizenship is usually required.
