Job Description

We are looking for an investigator interested in the international development of the higher education sector, who wants to work with qualified tasks centrally at a university.

You will work in a central position within CIVIS and be part of an international quality assurance team led by Stockholm University. This involves close cooperation with other member universities and, to some extent, with CIVIS's African partners. The tasks related to quality work include both operational and strategic work. Examples include:

  • developing and implementing CIVIS-common quality assurance processes for education, as well as coordinating and supporting the quality assurance of CIVIS transnational educational programs, including expertise regarding external accreditation, follow-up, and securing educational quality
  • continuously following and strategically participating in the development of quality assurance issues at the European level, e.g., FOREU4ALL, European Degree Label, European Approach, and ESG
  • reporting to the European Commission and participating in the work to develop the alliance as a whole through quality assurance and follow-up.

You will also be part of one of the alliance's units, the Civic Engagement Unit. This unit focuses on coordinating various collaboration tasks (social innovation and impact) and their integration into the universities' operations and CIVIS educational offerings. In these parts, the work will also be carried out in close cooperation with other universities within the alliance, but a large part of the work will also concern Stockholm University's engagement in various initiatives in the area. Collaboration with external actors and Stockholm Open Lab is an important part of the task.

The employment may also include other tasks within Stockholm University's work with CIVIS.

The employment as a whole is organizationally located at the Executive Secretariat, but the tasks are shared with the International Office at the Student Services Department. Quality assurance constitutes 50% of a full-time position and belongs to the Executive Secretariat. Tasks related to the Civic Engagement Unit/collaboration amount to 30% of a full-time position and belong to the International Office.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • Relevant academic education of at least three years.
  • Several years of current experience working with quality assurance in higher education.
  • Experience working with collaboration within and between academia and other societal actors, nationally and internationally.
  • Several years of experience working at a university or a related organization.
  • Several years of experience working with qualified support for educational planning.
  • Experience working in an international context, particularly with an EU focus.
  • Documented very good skills in written presentation.
  • Experience using English as a working language and very good proficiency in the language.

Merits include:

  • Experience working in a European university alliance.
  • Experience working with quality assurance at a university-wide level.
  • Several years of experience processing educational and research matters.

The tasks require an analytical, flexible, and efficient working method, as well as the ability to work both proactively and attentively towards the outside world. Furthermore, you are responsible, have good collaboration skills, and good communication skills.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
