The department is responsible for education from preschool to adult education and runs a unique house for young people's active leisure time.

The role involves

Reciprocal learning and care presuppose subject knowledge, pedagogical skills, and the ability to relate to children in a thoughtful manner through dialogue.

As a preschool teacher, you lead and are responsible for the operations in a way that enables children to develop as far as possible towards the goals and guidelines of the curriculum. You have a holistic perspective on the operations with the child's learning in focus. In your work, you challenge children's curiosity, interest, and desire to learn, while creating conditions for their development and learning.

You plan, implement, evaluate, develop, and document the operations based on existing governing documents. As part of the assignment, you follow research and work based on proven experience and scientific basis to continuously develop the quality and content of the operations.

There are 10 municipal preschools in Skara. We are now looking for a certified preschool teacher for Förskolan Marieberg, located in central Skara.

Who are you?

You are an engaged, present, and responsive preschool teacher who is passionate about creating a safe and joyful environment where children's curiosity and perspectives are at the center.

You build relationships by meeting every child with presence and responsiveness. You promote language and communication through stories, conversations, and play. You weave the goals of the curriculum into everyday life in a meaningful and natural way – mathematics, natural sciences, and creativity become part of the child's exploration.

You are curious and reflective, seeing development as a shared journey where children's questions and ideas are given space. Through documentation and joint reflections, you make children's learning visible and let their perspectives guide the operations.

Qualifications

• Certified preschool teacher or teacher certified for preschool.
• Good ability to plan, organize, and follow up on pedagogical work, as well as the ability to take initiative and start processes yourself, both in work teams and in operations.
• Good ability to create respectful relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to capture children's initiatives and create participation.
• Be a person who can lead both among children and colleagues and have the ability to take different perspectives.

Other information and benefits

The position is permanent 100%, with a start date of 2026-08-03 or as agreed.
