Jacobsskolan offers 7 vocational programs and IM (Introductory programs). We are a school with a strong student focus, working to strengthen students for working life! The school counselor is the psychosocial resource within student health services. You have knowledge of society's support functions and act as an advisor to students, parents, and staff. The role also includes counseling and support using conversation as a tool. The work is based on both health-promoting and preventive initiatives. Together with the special needs educator, school nurse, study and career counselor, and school leadership, you will be responsible for the preventive and promoting work for 4 vocational programs. You will also work strategically for the entire Jacobsskolan together with all professions.

You primarily work at the group level to give as many students as possible tools related to mental and social health. Individual conversations are also part of the role.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a degree in social work or equivalent higher education. You should have proven and documented experience working with the target group of young people aged 16-19. Previous experience working within a high school is meritorious.

Since you will have several colleagues within student health and administration, we consider it a given that you see your colleagues as a strength and that you collaborate on parts that you prioritize together.

You have an easy time building and maintaining good relationships and gain energy from working in daily operations. In your role, you actively participate in operations at the group and individual level, and collaborate with school leadership, mentors, teachers, guardians, and authorities outside the school. You are involved in systematic quality work, and for us, it is important that you are independent, responsible, social, and outgoing.

About us

The Child and Education Administration is responsible for the municipality's preschools, primary schools, high schools, adapted schools, and cultural schools. We work together for a learning environment where children, students, and employees succeed and get to be their best. The administration's task is to coordinate, plan, and support the various operations and work for coordination between school and working life.

We offer the following programs: Child and Leisure Program, Construction and Civil Engineering Program, Electricity and Energy Program, Vehicle and Transport Program, Industrial Technology Program, Restaurant and Food Program, Care and Nursing Program, as well as Introductory Programs. The school has a good collaboration with working life through constructive program councils. We are also engaged in Teknikcollege, Motorbranschcollege, and Vård- och omsorgscollege.

We use SchoolSoft as a tool for documentation and for parent contacts. In daily use, we use Office 365 internally within the Child and Education Administration as well as Google Classroom in teaching.
