About the assignment

We are looking for a secure, sensitive, and engaged female personal assistant for a 9-year-old boy with autism and severe intellectual disability in Trelleborg.

The boy has no verbal language and requires constant supervision and presence in daily life. He moves quickly and may suddenly run off, so you need to be observant and able to stay one step ahead. He also struggles to understand consequences and needs support in all aspects of his daily life.

It is important that you have experience working with autism and intellectual disabilities, and that you are empathetic, calm, and secure in your approach. Knowledge of airway obstruction and the Heimlich maneuver is advantageous as the boy sometimes chokes on food.

The boy enjoys being active and appreciates activities both indoors and outdoors. He likes, among other things, going down slides, visiting playgrounds, taking the bus, and playing with his younger brother.

Job Responsibilities

• Pick him up from school and meet him at home
• Assist with hygiene and care
• Support during meals
• Activities inside and outside the home
• Be a secure and present support throughout the entire day

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience with autism and intellectual disabilities
• Is sensitive, observant, and empathetic
• Has patience and can work calmly and structured
• Is physically active and enjoys being on the move
• Preferably has knowledge of the Heimlich maneuver and handling airway obstructions

Working Hours

• Weekdays: 17:00–08:00
• Weekends: 09:00–09:00
• The work includes 6.5 hours of on-call duty during the night

Great importance is placed on personal suitability and the ability to create security and good contact with the boy and his family.
