About the Role

Your assignment is to work with special educational needs support for students in upper secondary school. You are part of the student health team and are included in one or more of the school's student health teams, where you contribute special pedagogical competence at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

In this role, you collaborate closely with the various professions within student health, such as counselors, school nurses, school psychologists, and school doctors, as well as with school staff and external partners. The mission of student health is to work with teaching staff for the students' overall well-being and contribute expertise to student health work.

The health-promoting and preventive work is in focus, where the school is seen as a health factor for the student. Successful learning and student health are prioritized development areas and form the foundation of the work.

The responsibilities include:

• Supporting the school's promoting and preventive work
• Supporting the school's work with leadership, stimulation, and extra adjustments, including compensatory aids
• Being responsible for investigating students' need for special support and participating/contributing knowledge to the design of special support
• Being a qualified conversation partner for students and school staff
• Participating in and contributing to the school's development work
• Being knowledgeable about current research and contributing to interdisciplinary work in the student health team

Teaching is not included in this position.

Qualifications

Teacher education combined with special educational needs education or special teacher education. Experience in special educational work within compulsory school and/or upper secondary school is meritorious. Experience working with youth aged 16–20 who need special support is meritorious.

We are looking for you who are educated as a special educational needs teacher or special teacher, or who are currently undergoing education. You have the ability to work both broadly and closely with students, individually or in groups.

You easily build relationships and are a qualified conversation partner in pedagogical matters with students, guardians, colleagues, and other stakeholders.

• You have experience with systematic quality work
• You use research and proven experience for analysis and development
• You are accustomed to working with digital tools and compensatory aids

Other Information

The position is permanent, starting as agreed. Recruitment will take place on an ongoing basis.

We apply individual and differentiated salary setting. For this position, the monthly salary is between 32,000 and 48,000 SEK, depending on experience, education, and competence.

Before employment, we will request that you present an extract from the criminal record register (Chapter 2, Section 31 of the Education Act). The extract is requested via the Criminal Record Register | Swedish Police Authority (polisen.se). It usually takes between 1–2 weeks to receive it by mail.

Before being offered employment, you as a candidate are obligated to present an extract from the criminal record register for work in any of the following areas; school or preschool, work with children in other activities than school and childcare, work with children according to LSS (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), work at or in connection with HVB homes (homes for care or care with special support), work with the elderly or persons with disabilities. You order the extract via the Police website. The extract must be presented before employment can begin.
