About the Workplace

We are looking for a new colleague! Do you want to make a difference for children placed in foster care?

Here you will find a workplace with high ambitions, where learning and quality are in focus. You will lead the daily operations of the unit and collaborate closely with colleagues across the entire section for children and youth.

Responsibilities

In the role of Senior Social Secretary (1st Social Secretary), you are responsible for leading the social secretaries, distributing cases, and contributing to a good work environment.

The work includes exercising authority according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act with Special Provisions on Care of Young Persons (LVU), such as investigations, decisions, and follow-up of measures. You are responsible for preparing cases for the board and committees, as well as representing the board in administrative courts.

You ensure that reviews and reconsiderations are handled in a timely manner, provide methodological support, and serve as a sounding board and knowledge resource for the social secretaries. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues within the section for children and youth.

Collaboration is second nature to you – you see the strength in working together to achieve common goals and create new opportunities. You are not afraid of challenges and actively contribute to the development of the operations.

To succeed in the role, you have a good ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. You are structured, solution-focused, and easily switch between strategic and operational work.

You are a clear and communicative leader who creates trust and engagement in the work group. You adapt your leadership style to the situation and the individual and have the ability to identify needs and act accordingly.

You see opportunities in change and have documented experience in contributing to the development of methods and quality in operations.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

  • A degree in Social Work or other higher education that the employer deems relevant.
  • Experience in foster care.
  • Experience working as a case worker/social secretary within child welfare services.
  • Good knowledge of BBIC and current legislation within SoL and LVU.
