At Lumena, we offer open interventions aimed at employment or studies for all residents of Södertälje Municipality. The operation has three focuses. ALIS is our regular activity providing support to young adults aged 18–29. "Egen väg för unga" (Own Path for Young People) is an ESF-funded project supporting young adults aged 18–21 from particularly vulnerable areas. Lumena+ is a sub-project within a regional ESF-funded collaboration project between Region Stockholm, the Swedish Public Employment Service, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, and Södertälje Municipality for the target group aged 30–64. In our operations, we work based on evidence-based methods: Individual Placement and Support (IPS), Supported Education, and Case Management (CM). Mentors and employment consultants work here. We are now looking for a mentor for the young adult target group.

Your responsibilities

You support participants, based on their own wishes, to overcome the barriers they face in moving forward to employment or studies. You work using the methods Case Management and Motivational Interviewing (MI). The support is person-centered and tailored individually. You support participants in life areas where needs exist and coordinate necessary contacts with authorities. Your work takes place in close collaboration with the employment consultant who supports the participant towards work and studies. Together with the participant, you work towards their goals, and you continuously follow up on the process. You use your time for motivational work, guidance, and identifying support needs. Part of your work at the unit also involves contributing to the development of the projects.

Who are you?

You have experience with or are curious about working with young adults and have good knowledge of the current target group. As a mentor, you are a support for the participant, and therefore you need to have the ability to create trust and confidence. You are driven by supporting participants towards self-determination through work or studies and have strong belief in participants' possibilities. You have knowledge of mental ill-health and neuropsychiatric disabilities and can adapt your support based on the participant's needs.

Requirements:

  • You have a university degree or equivalent competence within social work.
  • You have experience working with participants in need of support.
  • You enjoy being the central hub and are accustomed to collaborating with various authorities on behalf of the participant.

Merits:

  • You have worked in Södertälje before and know the local support systems.
  • You have worked as a coordinator or have experience with Case Management (CM).
  • You have experience with rehabilitative working methods.

Personal qualities:

  • Qualities we seek are curiosity, openness, and a positive belief in participants' possibilities to work or study.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

We offer you

The position is a project employment until 2028-10-31.

We have office premises centrally located in Södertälje city center, at Nygatan 4, floor 3.

As an employee of Södertälje Municipality, you are offered a secure employment, good terms of employment and working environment, competence development, and several benefits. Please read more about us on our website and for more information about our benefits: Read more (#)

Welcome to us!

Other information

Selection and interviews may take place continuously during the application period. During the period 6/7–3/8, there are limited opportunities to receive answers to questions about the position.

Södertälje Municipality works with competency-based recruitment methodology to counteract discrimination and promote diversity in the workplace.

We have many positions where we conduct a register check. A certificate of good conduct (criminal record and suspicion register) from the Police Authority may therefore need to be presented by the candidate before a decision on employment is made.

An employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security clearance with register check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment is made. For some of our security-classed tasks, Swedish citizenship is required.
