About the Department

The Education Administration is responsible for preschool, primary school, after-school centers, upper secondary school, adult education, as well as child and student health services. Approximately 1,100 employees work here, together creating a secure and developmental school and childcare environment.

About the School

Norreport School is a large and well-organized lower secondary school located in central Ystad. The school has approximately 520 students and around 65 employees with various professional roles. Here, school leadership, teachers, teaching assistants, student coordinators, school wardens, administrative staff, resource teachers, special needs teachers, special educators, mother-tongue teachers, counselors, school nurses, and study and vocational counselors work together for the benefit of the students.

The school is fully equipped with purpose-built teaching facilities for all subjects, with the exception of the swimming hall. Thanks to the school's central location, we also have close access to forests, the sea, parks, and the municipality's rich cultural offerings.

The students are organized into three teams/workgroups that follow their student groups through the entire lower secondary level. Each team consists of 15–20 employees, with most subjects represented. A special needs teacher, special educator, and student coordinator are attached to each workgroup. Within each team, there is also a smaller teaching group.

The school leadership consists of the Principal and the Deputy Principal.

Job Responsibilities

Do you want to make a difference in the students' everyday lives? Are you a pedagog with a black belt in relationships who also has a passion for Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language (Sva) and German? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

The position includes mentorship. You will share mentorship in a class with another teacher and take special responsibility for the approx. 13 students you mentor, maintaining good dialogue with their guardians.

You will teach students in grade 8 in Swedish or Swedish as a Second Language (Sva), as well as grades 6-8 in German.

You will be part of and participate in the school's quality work and collaborate within the team and with your subject colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for a qualified and engaged teacher in Swedish or Swedish as a Second Language (Sva) and German. It is an advantage if you have previously worked with lower secondary students and have experience in mentorship.

• You have teacher certification in Swedish or Sva and German for grades 7-9.
• You are clear, structured, and engaged in your leadership in the classroom.
• You have a good ability to build relationships with students and colleagues.
• You want to inspire students to read, write, and develop their language skills.

We place great emphasis on relationship building both in the classroom and in mentorship. We believe that good relationships between students and teachers are key to successful learning.
