Job Responsibilities
Welcome to Sorgenfriskolan! We are looking for a qualified teacher in Swedish, English, and Swedish as a Second Language to teach our students in the lower secondary school (grades 7-9). We are seeking you who conduct creative teaching and find strategies to reach every student and strengthen them in both knowledge development and personal growth. At Sorgenfriskolan, there is a skilled and highly engaged school librarian who, among other things, leads our "Culture Crew", enriches all teaching here, and looks forward to collaborating with you on both literature and linguistic development. As a teacher at Sorgenfriskolan, you are not alone. You are part of a grade-level team of teachers where you all share mentorship for a grade of students. The team plans and is responsible for the students' education and development, and decides on, for example, subject integration, project studies, or study visits in your classes. The team's focus is on creating the best conditions for each student in a safe and trusting environment to enable students to develop both academically and as individuals.
You are also part of a subject team where you have regular meetings and can co-plan and drive subject development from a grades F-9 perspective. The subject team's task is to reflect on and analyze the teaching in the subject and, under the guidance of the development group, determine the next steps in the subject work. Naturally, there is also a student health team here with special needs teachers, special educators, counselors, school nurses, and career guidance counselors. They support and guide both students and educators and are appreciated sounding boards in all grades.
Qualifications
You who apply are a certified teacher with qualifications for teaching Swedish, English, and Swedish as a Second Language in grades 7-9. If you have previous experience working as a teacher, we see this as an asset. Experience working with students of different ages is also considered an asset. You have good insight into and knowledge of the school's governing documents and can use them effectively in your daily work.
Furthermore, you have good didactic and pedagogical skills and can therefore lead and organize your work to create study peace and a good learning environment for our students throughout their school day.
You can develop your work based on evidence-based research and have knowledge of digital tools.
Of course, you have a professional approach and work for good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.
We look forward to receiving your application!
Interviews will be held digitally via Teams on Tuesday, June 30.

During the 2026/27 school year, approximately 540 students attend the school. The school works with collegial learning and we have a special focus on values-based work and mathematics development.
