Your role with us

You will teach within the Housing specialization of the Construction and Infrastructure program. The role involves teaching based on the upper secondary school curriculum, stimulating students to learn and take personal responsibility. You translate your professional knowledge into practical, pedagogical, and work-like educational moments where theory and practice interact. When planning and adapting teaching to individuals, you utilize the daily life and culture of young people, alternative learning tools, current research, and a scientific foundation. You reflect individually and together with colleagues on your work with the aim of continuously developing both pedagogically and professionally. Furthermore, you assess, analyze, and document the individual student's needs and results, incorporating assessments from practical training.

In your role as a leader, you create a safe and developmental learning environment and work to ensure students understand the importance of a safe working environment for a sustainable professional life. You are also responsible for the equipment used in the education and teach students to maintain it.

You build trusting relationships with students and other partners characterized by positive expectations. To ensure access to workplace-based internships, part of the role involves creating and maintaining networks with employers. You also market the school and the education at fairs to attract future students.

Who are we looking for?

We are primarily looking for you with a teaching license specializing in upper secondary vocational subjects, with a focus on housing construction. Secondly, a teaching degree in upper secondary vocational subjects with a focus on housing construction. Thirdly, higher education eligibility such that you can apply for a vocational teacher education program starting in 2027. Regardless of the path, vocational training in housing construction is also required.

Furthermore, you must have documented industry experience as a carpenter in housing construction. Previous experience as a teacher or vocational teacher is meritorious, as is experience as a trainer or leadership experience from youth activities. We require specialized professional knowledge in housing construction. Specialized knowledge in ground and infrastructure work is also meritorious, as is a forklift license.

You must have the ability to plan individualized and varied teaching based on a general pedagogical plan. You must be able to integrate digital technology into your daily work. We would appreciate it if you could engage students in both theory and practice and create motivation and interest in self-directed learning. It is also an advantage if you have an interest in the outside world and young people's daily lives to weave into the teaching. The work requires good collaborative and communication skills.

You are a professional, responsible, and clear leader who can make decisions, structure, and organize. Your leadership is characterized by the ability to set boundaries, and you are a good representative of our values. You create an understanding of the importance of a safe working environment for a long and sustainable working life. We appreciate that you are good at creating and maintaining contacts internally and externally.

To allow us to assess your application, you must attach your degree certificate and teaching license. When we wish to offer you the position, you are required to present an extract from the police record to enable us to employ you, according to regulations in Chapter 2, Sections 31-33 of the Education Act.

The upper secondary school is located in the beautiful Åsums fure, which was the Royal Wendes Artillery Regiment until 1994. The military premises used by the school are large, spacious, and well-adapted for the activities we conduct. The environment offers a peaceful workplace with good access to rooms and spaces for many different activities.

The teaching teams at Wendesgymnasiet are organized with the programs as their base. This means you work closely with colleagues who teach other common upper secondary subjects as well as teachers who teach core subjects within the programs.
