Maria Parkskolan is located in northern Helsingborg. The school is beautifully situated in Maria Park and in a newly built part of Mariastaden. The area offers proximity to Pålsjöskog, the beach, the sea, and the city's pulse. Our operations cover grades F-9, after-school care, and adapted primary school.

Maria Parkskolan is a multifaceted school where we strive to create an accessible and inclusive learning environment for all students. We work systematically with quality and development to ensure good teaching and a safe school environment for our students.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a special needs teacher for preschool class. As a pedagogue, you will plan, implement, and adapt teaching based on the student's individual needs. You work systematically with clarifying pedagogy by using and developing alternative and augmentative communication methods (AAC), such as picture support. You support the student's communication, participation, and independence in the school's various environments. Collaboration with guardians, educators, student welfare services, and other professions regarding the student's development is an important part of the assignment. You work with the student also during after-school care hours, both before and after school time, to create continuity and security.

Qualifications

  • You are a certified special needs teacher or have other relevant pedagogical education and experience.
  • Have experience working with students within the autism spectrum and intellectual disability.
  • Have very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both orally and in writing.
  • Have experience with communication tools and AAC, such as picture support.
  • Are a team player who enjoys working closely with colleagues in a work team and contributing to good collaboration regarding the student's development.
  • Are adaptable and have the ability to meet changes and different situations in a flexible manner.
  • Have good physical fitness and an active approach, as the student has a high need for movement and the teaching may include physical activities both indoors and outdoors.
  • Are secure, responsible, and have a low-affective approach in interactions.
  • Have a good ability to create structure, predictability, and secure relationships.
