Freinetskolan in Lund is looking for an engaged teacher in Art and Swedish, grades 4-9

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a teaching degree and are licensed. Previous experience in the profession is meritorious. It is also meritorious if you are qualified in subjects other than Art and Swedish and if you have experience working with students with functional variations.

You have good insight and knowledge of the school's governing documents and apply them in daily work. Furthermore, the job requires that you have good collaboration skills, are proactive, and can adapt your approach depending on the situation.

You have a great interest in developing the pedagogical activities to become inspiring and challenging. You have the ability to create good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. We assume that you see each student from a holistic perspective and enter the assignment with a positive view of students.

Job Responsibilities

In your teaching role with us, you will have the prerequisites to focus on the core task; the students' learning and development towards the goals. You plan your teaching, carry it out, and assess your students' acquired knowledge. The planning of your teaching will take place both individually and together with your colleagues. Your teaching is modern and creative and aims to reach and find strategies to strengthen the students, both academically and in their development into responsible citizens. The assignment also includes mentorship for a group of students.

About the Workplace

Freinetskolan in Lund is a small independent school for grades F-9 and a preschool. The school is located in the beautiful nature of St. Lars Park, which is often used in teaching, both as inspiration and as a classroom.

In Freinet pedagogy, great importance is placed on creating good relationships and democratic thinking among the children/students. An important part of the pedagogy is the children's/students' tentative attempts. By sometimes being allowed to fail, try again, and find new paths, the children/students develop their independence and creativity. Freinet pedagogy also means that the work of the hand and the brain are valued equally. The school uses reality and the surrounding society as part of the teaching.
