The Role

Hermods Komvux Learning Centre is looking for a certified teacher in Arabic and French for our distance education program. As a distance teacher with us, you are responsible for teaching in our shared learning platform and ensuring that students have the best conditions for success in their studies. The role includes real-time meetings and remote teaching. Furthermore, the position involves developing subject content within the learning platform and actively participating in collegial forums to promote equitable teaching, assessment, and grading.

The work is performed remotely, primarily during daytime hours, although evening and weekend work may occasionally occur. The position offers a high degree of flexibility, meaning you can essentially work from anywhere in Sweden. You will report to the Deputy Principal and be part of various collegial forums, such as work teams and subject groups.

Profile

You are a certified and qualified teacher in the aforementioned subjects. We look for someone who is well-versed in the school's regulatory documents and preferably has experience with distance teaching and adult education. Good digital competence is required, and you should use digital tools naturally and effectively in your teaching. You have a strong commitment to student learning and use well-proven teaching strategies to guide students to success.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of multilingualism, language-developing working methods, and adult learning theories.

You are an independent worker who thrives working alone, but you also possess strong collaboration skills and can work effectively with colleagues and other roles within the organization. You have a student-centered approach and an active commitment to creating an accessible, inclusive, supportive, and stimulating educational environment remotely.

Other Information

The position is a hourly-based employment (agreed fixed-term employment), which means you can combine the work with us with other commitments. You are required to provide your own computer, headset, printer, and any other necessary equipment.

We adhere to the collective agreement between Almega Educational Companies/Service Unions and the trade unions Unionen/SI.
