About the Workplace
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will become safer and more secure for everyone. We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation services, remand prisons, and client transport.
We are now recruiting personnel planners for Regional Coordinated Staffing. Here you will become part of a group consisting of approximately 31 personnel planners working with short- and long-term personnel planning for the core operations within Region West. The region consists of 10 prisons, 4 remand prisons, 5 probation offices, and a regional office. The regional office is located in central Gothenburg, where the department for Regional Coordinated Staffing is situated.
Job Description
As a personnel planner, you will help continue to build our staffing planning and develop working methods together with the operations. You will be part of an expanding section with opportunities for further development as a staffing planner.
As a personnel planner, you will have close contact with the core operations and plan staffing in a quality-assured and efficient manner. The planning is based on laws, routines, and collective agreements. Initially, you will work with short-term planning, with the main task of solving short-term vacancies. As experience and competence regarding the work and operations grow, the role will gradually develop to include long-term planning. As a long-term planner, the role also includes tasks related to holiday planning and training planning, as well as extensive collaboration with our managers throughout the region to staff operations optimally throughout the year.
In this role, you work closely with the core operations, which means you will continuously visit and work from the operational area you are responsible for, maintaining close dialogue with them during the work. The frequency of these visits is determined together with the responsible manager and the operational area. Other travel related to the position may also occur.

Since staffing planning often involves many simultaneous events, it is important that you can make correct assessments and prioritizations even under time pressure. You remain calm, focus on what is most urgent, and handle stressful situations in a constructive manner.
You collaborate well with others, listen, and are communicative. You are proactive and take initiative to solve problems in a smooth and solution-oriented manner. Furthermore, you have an interest in contributing to the whole by supporting your colleagues and helping to deliver joint solutions.

We are looking for someone who has:
- Completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant
- Work experience in personnel and staffing planning from operations within public administration
- Good computer skills with good knowledge of Excel
- Ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience with personnel and staffing systems
- Experience with Heroma
- Experience working within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's core operations
- Good knowledge of laws and agreements (labor law, working time regulations, policies, etc.)
- Experience with state collective agreements
- Post-secondary education in labor law or personnel science
