We are looking for a Controller for the West Region Office in Gothenburg. Here you will work with current societal issues influenced by developments in our external environment. The Regional Office supports the Regional Director and the region's managers. The office has a broad mandate and works, among other things, with business planning and follow-up, handling procedures, environmental scanning, preparing decision support materials, conducting investigations, coordinating reporting, and writing official responses to headquarters. The office is also responsible for the regional process for internal control and governance, coordination and administration of the security committee and MBL (Measures for the Protection of Employment) at the regional and section level, preparations for the Regional Director, and coordinating responsibility for the region's contingency issues. Furthermore, the office supports the region's units in administrative law matters and serves as the entry point for external and internal issues, with coordinating responsibility for collaboration with other authorities, regions, municipalities, and county administrative boards. There are currently 17 employees at the Regional Office.

Responsibilities

In your role, you support the regional leadership in financial and operational management, with the goal of utilizing the authority's resources efficiently. You collaborate closely with the region's regional economist. You monitor and analyze the region's economy while clearly explaining the connection between finance and operations to relevant parties. You monitor and communicate the central financial and operational management perspective in the region and are involved in the authority's controller network. You work independently to prepare materials for planning and follow-up of operations and are active in proposing measures. You contribute to a good working climate within the region and the authority.

Examples of tasks include:

• Plan and lead the implementation of budget and forecast work together with the management group.
• Support sections and units in quality-assuring budgets and forecasts, including input and extraction of budget and actual results.
• Prepare monthly follow-ups, analyze, and provide action proposals regarding economy, resources, and operations.
• Independently drive and collaborate in routine, method, and process development within the processes in which the controller operates.
• Collaborate with the authority's other controllers through the controller network.
• Provide advice and support on financial matters to managers in operations together with the regional economist.

Requirements

• University degree with a focus on economics.
• Experience of independent budget and forecast work within public operations.
• Current and multi-year experience of controller work within public operational management, strategic analysis, planning, and follow-up.
• Experience supporting managers and management groups with good results.
• Experience working in financial systems.
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Very good knowledge of the Office package, especially Excel.

Merits

• Experience with the state budget process, leadership and governance of state authorities, and how Swedish public administration works.
• Several years of experience leading and coordinating budget forecasts and being responsible for method and process development.

Terms

Employment type: Permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period.

Working hours: Office hours.

Location: Gothenburg.

Start date: As soon as possible according to agreement.
