Research and education at the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences (MGeo) address fundamental and applied questions regarding Earth's past, present, and future climate and environment, including human interaction with nature and consequences for human well-being. MGeo develops and applies pioneering methods, models, and techniques within environmental science, Quaternary and bedrock geology, paleontology, physical geography, biodiversity and ecosystem science, remote sensing, geographic information science (GIS), and computational science in environmental and health contexts to study processes ranging from the microscopic to the planetary, across all time scales.
Job Description
As an Educational Administrator at the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, you will work in a team with teachers and administrators (Program Director, Study Counselors, and the administrative office). The role involves developing our educational administrative processes.
LADOK Administration: Registration and reporting of grades, study interruptions, and study breaks in LADOK (e.g., registration, grade reporting, certificates, archiving).
LUBAS: Create and advertise educational opportunities in LUBAS for master's and bachelor's programs as well as campus and online courses for autumn and spring semesters.
Canvas: Create course spaces in Canvas for courses.
New Web Portal: Management of reserve admissions and eligibility checks, follow-up of conditionally admitted students, and reporting of admission statistics.
W3D3: Diary management for credit transfers and study breaks.
TimeEdit: Scheduling and room bookings for courses and staff.
Administration of course starts and invitations, including sending introductory emails, roll call invitations, and other informational material to newly admitted bachelor's and master's students.
Program coordination for five master's programs and one bachelor's program, with a special focus on ongoing communication with newly admitted students.
Special responsibility for the department's Joint Master Program: establishing students in LADOK, communicating with international partner universities, and reporting student results to partner universities at the end of the semester.
Examination administration, including coordination with the Examination Service.
Management of incoming exchange students, collaboration with international coordinators.
Information and service to Swedish and international students, doctoral students, and teachers.
Logistics and Practical Support:
- Assist with travel bookings (train/bus) for students.
- Book buses/minibuses, accommodation, and meals in connection with excursions.
- Administration such as course evaluations, etc.
- Carry out overall educational administration in collaboration with the Program Director, Study Counselors, and course instructors, in cooperation with other parts of Lund University.
- Daily contact with students via email, phone, and personal meetings.
- Ongoing support to teachers and Program Directors.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Minimum 3-year upper secondary education (gymnasium).
- Work experience in administrative tasks relevant to the position.
- General experience in educational administration and student services.
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, in both Swedish and English.
- Good proficiency in the Microsoft Office package.
Meritorious Competencies
- Post-secondary education.
- Experience in similar tasks.
- Experience with educational administrative systems, especially LADOK, New Web Portal, LUBAS, TimeEdit, Canvas, and W3D3.
- Experience in outward-facing operations.
Since the position is highly outward-facing and involves significant contact with and service to students, teachers, researchers, doctoral students, and the public, we place great importance on your personal qualities. Conditions
The position is a full-time temporary appointment starting as soon as possible, until August 31, 2027.

The activities take place in the northern university area. The Faculty has approximately 1,900 students, 330 doctoral students, and 730 employees.
