Project Manager for Support of Young Adults in Social Exclusion

About the Project

The project is a development phase in southeastern Skåne, based on a preliminary study regarding young adults (16–29 years old) who are neither in employment, education, nor training (NEET). Many of these individuals are not registered in any systems, have lost trust in authorities, or have chosen to stand outside society for other reasons. The project is led by a project manager and takes place in close collaboration between relevant municipalities, authorities, and organizations.

The goal is to create sustainable working methods that can be used even after the project ends, ensuring that more young people receive timely support and avoid long-term social exclusion.

The project is funded and managed within the framework of Finsam Southeast Skåne, a coordination model aimed at promoting collaboration between the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Swedish Public Employment Service, municipalities, and regions to facilitate entry into the labor market and prevent social exclusion.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who can find, reach out to, and build trust with young adults who are not always reached through standard contact channels. This is a role for you who can establish contact without the weight of bureaucracy, stay the course when trust takes time, and work practically and relationally. You will document the work in a shared mapping system.

You will work in a small team. The work is flexible and varied. You meet young people where and when they need you, which may sometimes involve evenings or weekends.

Later in the project, the role includes mentoring and coordinating young adult peer supporters who use their own experiences to reach and support other young people in social exclusion.

The placement will be in Sjöbo Municipality, but the work covers the entire southeastern Skåne region.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has post-secondary education in fields such as behavioral science, social work, pedagogy, or another education deemed equivalent.
• Has experience working with young adults, e.g., social work, field work, youth activities, or peer support.
• Is self-assured and able to inspire trust without pressuring for quick results.
• Is flexible and structured in working independently, with the ability to motivate and support people in change processes.
• Has an interest in method development and documentation. You see the value in systematizing experiences to create sustainable working methods.

Employment Terms

• Salary: Monthly salary.
• Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
• Duration: Start date 2026-10-01 (subject to agreement), end date 2028-05-31.
• Working hours: Daytime.
