About the role
We are currently looking for a Sustainability Manager for an established manufacturing company located in Malmö. In this role, you will have the opportunity to combine leadership with operational and strategic work within sustainability, occupational health and safety (OHS), and safety. You will be responsible for supporting and further developing the company's work within EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) and sustainability, with a focus on creating a safe workplace and ensuring that operations comply with current legislation and internal guidelines.
You will work closely with production and be involved in areas such as risk assessments, incident management, chemical handling, energy issues, and sustainability reporting. The role also includes responsibility for the company's supply systems and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and sustainable operations. You will lead a team of six employees and drive improvement initiatives together with the business operations. You will coordinate work related to audits, authority contacts, and sustainability initiatives, while contributing to the development of working methods and processes over time.
The assignment is initially a six-month consulting contract with good prospects for permanent employment with the client. The position is based in Malmö, and the work is primarily performed on-site during daytime hours. Occasional travel within Europe may occur. The desired start date is as soon as possible.
About you
You are a confident leader with solid expertise in occupational health, safety, and sustainability, preferably from the manufacturing industry. You have at least five years of experience from production-related operations and have previously led teams or workgroups. You have good knowledge of Swedish legislation regarding occupational health and sustainability, as well as the ability to translate regulations and requirements into practical and efficient processes that support safe and sustainable production.
As a person, you are communicative, engaging, and skilled at building trusting relationships within the company. You have a proactive approach to work, are driven by improvement initiatives, and have the ability to coach, influence, and create results together with others.
Qualifications
- At least five years of relevant experience from the manufacturing industry or production-related operations
- Previous experience in a leadership role
- Relevant post-secondary education
- Good knowledge of Swedish occupational health and sustainability legislation, as well as understanding of production processes
- Very good skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Fluent English in both spoken and written form
- Meritorious experience from the food industry or other regulated production activities
