After-School Center Teacher – Focus on Physical Education and Health

About the Workplace
Robinson Valsjön started with preschool class and grade 1 in the autumn of 2022. The school will grow organically with new students in preschool class each year, aiming to become an F-6 school with 160 students. This autumn, we are starting a new preschool class, meaning we will then cover grades F-5. The school is located in a newly built facility in the scenic area around Lake Valsjön. Our preschool, Tellusbarn Valsjön, is also located in these premises.

Robinson's profile consists of three parts: Outdoor Pedagogy, Experience-Based Learning, and Robinson's Roots/Values Work. Our core idea is that learning becomes long-lasting when it stems from an experience. Therefore, we work with experience-based learning, where many experiences take place in and with the help of nature. We want the children at our school to get to know nature and, consequently, learn to appreciate it; therefore, we use outdoor life as a working tool.

For us, it is important that students feel that school is joyful and meaningful. Therefore, we work in subject-integrated projects where all subjects are presented in a meaningful context. This method helps students maintain and develop their desire to learn, making the learning feel more "real." Responsibilities
We are now looking for you who want to become part of our work community and contribute to continuing to develop our school and after-school center.

As an after-school center teacher, you work at the school during the morning, where you lead sessions on morning pulse and teach physical education and health. After school hours, you drive and develop the after-school center together with your colleagues, with a special focus on movement, sports, and health.

The after-school center works structured based on the central content and the skills that students should be given the opportunity to develop. Through collegial learning, joint planning, and analysis of results, we develop the operations together.

Since outdoor pedagogy is an important part of our profile, it is important that you enjoy working outdoors. We see the outdoor environment as an extra classroom and use it actively, both during the school day and in the after-school center's activities.

Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a certified after-school center teacher and wish to contribute to the continued development of our operations. It is an advantage if you have a few years of experience working in an after-school center. You have a secure and clear leadership style, take initiative, and create engaging and meaningful learning situations for students—both during school hours and at the after-school center. Experience working with recess activities and outdoor pedagogy is a plus.

The position is planned to start at the beginning of the autumn term in August 2026, but may be filled before the application period has ended. We warmly welcome your application!
