Teacher for grades Pre-K to 3 at Soldalaskolan

Soldalaskolan is a school where students meet a joyful learning environment characterized by participation, trust, and mutual respect. The school operates with two parallel classes and has approximately 550 students from Pre-K to grade 9. We offer an open school environment with new, functional, and well-equipped facilities.

At Soldalaskolan, the teaching staff mainly consists of certified teachers with qualifications in their respective subjects. The school also employs special education teachers, school nurses, study and career counselors, and school psychologists.

Soldalaskolan is a Professional Learning Community (PLC) school that continuously welcomes teacher students, primarily from Södertörn University but also from other institutions, who complete their practical training (VFU) with us. As a certified teacher, we expect you to welcome and mentor these students. You will be offered a 7.5 ECTS mentor training course as well as continuous professional development in mentoring. The collaboration with Södertörn University, through mentoring and student contact, is both developmental and educational, contributing to the improvement of teaching quality.

Your Responsibilities

At Soldalaskolan, the quality of teaching is at the center of our development work. We work long-term with language and knowledge-developing approaches (SOKA), mathematics development, and collegial learning to give all students good conditions for success in their schooling.

We are now looking for a certified teacher for a full-time position in Pre-K. The assignment involves welcoming a new group of students in Pre-K and following the class through lower primary school up to grade 3. We are therefore looking for a teacher who wants to work long-term with students' knowledge development and contribute to laying a stable foundation in reading, writing, and mathematics.

The role includes close collaboration with guardians, student health services, and colleagues to early identify and meet students' various needs.

• You lead teaching in a structured way and create clear frameworks for learning.
• You build long-term relationships with students and guardians.
• You systematically follow up on students' knowledge development and adapt teaching based on identified needs.

Requirements:

• Teacher certification with eligibility to teach in grades Pre-K to 3
• Experience teaching in lower primary school
• Experience planning, implementing, and following up on teaching based on the Swedish Curriculum Lgr22
• Experience working with language and knowledge development
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish

Merits:

• Education or documented competence in Swedish as a Second Language
• Education or documented competence in early reading and writing acquisition
• Experience working in multilingual student groups
• Experience with early support measures and mapping of students' reading and writing development
