The Property Department is a division within the University Administration at Stockholm University. Around 80 people work at the department on issues such as premises and housing supply, security, physical work environment, and service functions such as cleaning, mail and goods, conference coordination, central examination service, and service center. The security function is part of the Property Department and has overall responsibility for the university's operational security and safety.
We are now looking for a Security Officer to complement the security function.

Job Description
As a Security Officer, you work in close collaboration with the Security Manager, Deputy Security Manager, and Security Coordinator to ensure quality and efficiency in the function's daily operations.
In the role of Security Officer, your main responsibilities include:
- Leading workshops on risk inventory.
- Supporting operations within Stockholm University in their risk management work.
- Supporting the development and improvement of security guard services.
- Supporting event security work.
- Processing and handling security-related cases.
To succeed and thrive in the role, you have a structured approach to work and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. You are solution-oriented, have strong collaboration skills, and a strong interest in meeting people and conducting workshops and training. You can handle details while keeping the big picture in mind and contributing to the organization reaching its goals.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Secondary education (high school diploma).
- Training as a Security Officer or other experience considered equivalent.
- Experience in conducting presentations and workshops.
- Experience in work focused on case handling and coordination.
- Good proficiency in using MS Office.
- Ability to quickly learn and use new IT systems and tools.
- Flexibility and ability to prioritize and switch between different tasks as needed.
- A well-developed ability to collaborate and thrive working both independently and in teams.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, with the ability to communicate clearly and adapt communication to context and needs.
It is an advantage if you also have:
- Post-secondary education.
- Experience of Stockholm University as an organization.
- Experience working with security-related issues.
- Experience from the security guard industry.
- Experience working in the public sector.
- Experience of cooperation with external authorities or other actors.
- Experience handling confidential documents and information in accordance with the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act (OSL), the Archives Act, and/or the Data Protection Act.
We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.
About the Position
The position is fixed-term with intermittent work. The position is hourly paid, and the extent of work varies based on operational needs. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date by agreement.
