Our Mission

The Finance Department ensures that the resources of the Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen) are used in an efficient and legally secure manner. The Reporting Section contributes to this by ensuring that regulations, standards, and principles within the accounting area are followed. The section is responsible for the ongoing accounting and closing of accounts within the agency.

We are now looking for an experienced accountant for the Accounting and Reporting Unit. You will become part of the Reporting Section and will, among other things, work with the agency's financial reporting, closing of accounts, annual report, as well as provide support and advice within the accounting area.

Job Description

As an accountant, you will work with the entire accounting process, from ongoing accounting to closing of accounts and the annual report. You will be part of a team with qualified accountants and will participate in preparing the financial parts of the agency's annual report. Together with your colleagues, you will work to improve, streamline, and ensure the quality of the agency's financial reporting.

As an accountant, you are responsible for analyzing and reporting the results of the operations. You are responsible for ensuring that the reporting is fair from an accounting perspective and that the agency follows good accounting practice. To succeed in this, you need to have a holistic perspective on government accounting.

In your role, you work operationally and collaborate with your colleagues to compile the agency's reporting, including monthly and quarterly reconciliations as well as the closing of accounts. Your tasks also include planning and structuring the work during the year and prior to the annual closing, as well as keeping up to date with current accounting rules and regulations.

The role involves overall partial responsibility for, among other things, developing guidelines and instructions within the accounting area. You will work with your colleagues to handle current accounting issues, interpretation of regulatory issues, and to develop the accounting work. We therefore believe that you have previously worked at a central level in a large organization.

The position is a permanent full-time employment that may start with a six-month probationary period. The workplace is located in Solna.

More About Working With Us

Basic Requirements for the Position

  • A university education of at least 180 credits/120 points in economics with a focus on accounting, or education that the employer considers equivalent.
  • Long experience of working with closing of accounts and annual reports at a central level in a large organization.
  • Multi-year and current experience of government accounting.
  • Experience of working with qualified investigations and analyses within the economic area.
  • Very good ability to communicate both orally and in writing in Swedish.

Other Merits for the Position

  • Experience of driving development and improvement work within accounting.
  • Experience of working with internal and external audit.
  • Experience working with various analysis programs, tools, and financial systems, where the experience covers all of them.
