About the Project

Do you want to help build tomorrow's meeting place for sustainable transition?

Folkverkstan i Norr is a development project driven by ABF Norr with support from the EU and Leader Polaris. Through reuse, crafts, and adult education, we aim to create meeting places where people can learn new things, share knowledge, and inspire each other to live more sustainably.

During the project, we are establishing Folk Workshops in Jokkmokk, Överkalix, and Gällivare. These locations will feature open workshops, courses, theme days, and other activities focused on reuse, creativity, and sustainable development. We will also work with a mobile workshop to reach people outside the central towns.

The project is run by a team consisting of a program administrator and two activity developers. The program administrator is responsible for the overall coordination of the project and the development of activities in Gällivare. As an activity developer, you will be responsible for building and developing activities in either Jokkmokk or Överkalix.

This is a project where we build together. You will have great opportunities to influence the content, test new ideas, and develop activities based on local needs, while collaborating with and learning from your colleagues.

Your Role

As an activity developer, you will play a key role in establishing Folkverkstan in your municipality.

You will work on creating activities, building collaborations, and developing operations together with residents, associations, businesses, and public actors.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Developing and coordinating the local Folk Workshop
• Planning and conducting open workshops, courses, and events
• Creating collaborations with the association sector, business community, and public sector
• Holding dialogue meetings to identify local needs and ideas
• Recruiting participants, mentors, and partners
• Communicating about the activities and generating engagement around the project
• Contributing to documentation, follow-up, and method development
• Participating in the work with the mobile workshop

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience coordinating, developing, or leading activities, projects, or events
• Has a good ability to plan, organize, and execute work in a structured manner
• Is confident in meeting groups and speaking in front of people
• Has good collaboration skills
• Has a valid B-class driver's license

Merits

The following qualifications are considered meritorious:

• Experience in project management or development work
• Experience in adult education, association life, or non-profit activities
• Knowledge of or interest in crafts, reuse, and sustainability issues
• Experience planning and conducting courses, workshops, or events
• A local network within the association sector, business community, or public sector
