At the Employment and Sustainment Unit, we work on finding pathways to self-sufficiency for individuals. As an Employment Consultant, you provide individualized support to help people become self-sufficient.

The unit is divided into teams working with different target groups and engaged in active development work. The teams are quite autonomous and very creative. We work in Lund City Hall (Kristallen) using an activity-based working method. For new employees, it is central to us that you feel welcome and valued. You will receive an introduction covering Lund Municipality, the Employment and Social Administration, and the Employment and Sustainment Unit.

About the role and your responsibilities

It is an exciting time in the labor market sector with new legislation on the horizon. We need to strengthen our team with two Employment Consultants to support the implementation of activity requirements.

Together with the Education Administration, we will launch a project offering an intervention aimed at individuals who need language support. We conducted a pilot in 2025, and we will build upon the results of that pilot. An SFI (Swedish for Immigrants) teacher will also be hired to work closely with us in designing the intervention. Part of the working time will be based at Komvux (Adult Education). The pilot showed that structured follow-ups at the workplace, combined with a language plan, yielded good results for the individual. Hopefully, we will also have a researcher following the project.

We are looking for two Employment Consultants for a team working with individuals receiving social assistance. We work based on a Motivational Interviewing (MI) inspired approach, Supported Employment, and BIP (Behavioral Intervention Program). The target group consists of individuals who, to varying degrees, need support to establish themselves in the labor market. In Lund Municipality, we work with structured follow-ups, group activities, and clear individualized support. As support, we have well-established collaborations with municipal administrations, companies, and the non-profit sector.

In this role, it is important that you are passionate about providing individual support and have a strong belief in the individual's ability to become self-sufficient through work or study.

The tasks involve creating a plan for the path to work or study, based on where the individual currently stands. Collaboration occurs with other relevant authorities, both internally and externally. Networking with employers is particularly important. We offer supervision and further development through relevant training.

We are looking for you

We are looking for someone with a degree in behavioral sciences or another university degree that the employer deems equivalent. The job also requires you to be structured and able to handle administrative tasks, as the work involves some documentation. You should have good communication skills in both speech and writing. Good experience with the Office package, Teams, and Lifecare is meritorious.

We believe you have initiative, a personal drive to find solutions, are relationship-building, and have an interest in development work to create added value for the individual. The tasks require you to be autonomous, but you also see the work group as an asset.

If you have other language skills such as Arabic, Dari, or Somali, this is considered meritorious.

We see that you are accustomed to meeting individuals in need of individual support. We would appreciate it if you had education and/or experience working with municipal or state labor market initiatives, work that requires networking and collaboration. Experience with Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Supported Employment (SE) is meritorious. Experience with group activities is a plus.
