Do you want to work in a socially important role where housing is at the center? As a Housing Mediator at Uppsala Housing Agency, you work with something fundamental to people's lives: the opportunity to have a home.
Do you want to help people all the way home – for real?
As a Housing Mediator at Uppsala Housing Agency, you are often the first – and sometimes the most important – contact for people looking for their next home. You answer questions, guide through rules and systems, and ensure that both housing seekers and landlords receive professional and secure treatment.
We are now looking for you who enjoy service, structure, and meeting people, and who want to work in a socially important role in an organization that continues to grow.
About the role
As a Housing Mediator, you have a combined role where housing mediation and service go hand in hand. You work closely with both housing seekers and landlords and ensure that housing is mediated in a clear and transparent manner. The mediation takes place in our self-developed system, and you are responsible for the mediation process up until tenant proposals are submitted to the landlord.
A large part of the daily routine involves meeting people. You are the face of the Housing Agency and have daily contact with housing seekers and landlords via phone, email, and visits. You ensure that every interaction is characterized by clarity and professional treatment. By working with both mediation and service, you get a holistic view and can provide fast, relevant, and clear assistance.
You handle administrative tasks related to each mediation and become part of a team that together handles both quick everyday questions and more complex cases. The position also includes participating in events organized by us or our partners.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for you who have a high school education and at least two years of experience working in customer service or another service profession that the employer deems equivalent. You have good computer skills and are accustomed to working in various systems. You express yourself effortlessly in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have good knowledge of English.
It is an advantage if you have experience in administrative work, work with housing issues, and testing systems during upgrades and releases.
Language skills beyond Swedish and English are considered an advantage.
As a person, you are service-oriented, communicative, and pedagogical. You are confident in meetings with people and have an easy time explaining even complex information in a clear and understandable way. You enjoy collaborating with others, are flexible when conditions change, and take responsibility for ensuring your work maintains high quality.
